The church near Binjiang Road, probably is the most crowded and remarkable shopping area for Tianjin people. It's ironic that the holy and the secular stay next to each other, watching people hover around them. It was chilly the day I visited Tianjin. I gave myself a sweet treat from Starbucks and stood in front of the church, feeling the peaceful atmosphere of her. The crosses on the top which used to destroyed by the red guards are now rebuilt and pointing still to the gloomy sky of this land. Churches are no longer the highest building in a city. They are replaced by the skyscrapers and ferris wheel in the park. Only when it's Christmas, people think of her and flock to her, holding candles in their hands, wandering in the city, shouting hooray and celebrate for nothing.
In the end of his life Father Zosima gave his last preach and shared his life before he turns to Christ with his brothers and friends. He repeated that we shall believe that the world of God will come to true one day and we should not give up our belief. It's not just about love your neighbours and enemy but you should also carry the sins of the sinners. The sins of OTHERS.
Dostoyevsky is putting us in a circumstance that justice and truth can be reached if we carry the sins of others, appreciate every single thing in this world by seeing them as the precious creation of God. Think of the sins that you bear and you will not feel how noble and blameless you are. This is a journey to crash and reform. Father Zosima prays day and night for himself and others, even for those he doesn't know, and he believes that God who full with love and truth will pour His mercy onto the people suffered when they were in the world.
Here come to the end of Father Zosima's life in the world. And Alyosha will continue to follow his steps. Alyosha, who is loving and kind, but would never able to stop the tragedy from happen. He is sent to witness and suffer, just like the church on the land.
